The brief was six men in all black on a couch. Each one in a different pose. Every one of them wearing a piece from Collection 001, against a pale studio background. Nothing else was specified.
Dani drew it. The sketch came back on 8 August 2026. One change was asked for. The finished painting arrived on 18 August, forty layers deep, in named groups.
The creatures around the couch are his own. He calls them the Eye Ball Kreeps, and they were kept in.
The work is not a picture of the jewellery. It is a picture of the people who wear it. That was the direction, and it is the reason the pieces sit where they do in the frame rather than in the middle of it.
The collaborator lane
BROTHERS is the first of these. Every VY-SHUN drop carries something made by another artist, given free to the buyer and shipped with the piece. The artist is credited by name and takes a piece from the drop.
One artist still makes the jewellery. Dani did not make a piece. He drew the people wearing them.
